The final four hours from Nana and Poppy's house seemed the longest drive yet! We were all eager to finally be home and see our house, our dog Charlie and of course my parents. We had more "are we there yet's" than during the entire 6 months of travelling!! We didnt even stop for lunch; we ate in the car so as to be home more quickly. As we counted down the towns and minutes we were all getting quite excited. Once in Scone we pulled up for a final pic of the town sign then trundled up the driveway to see my Mum and Dad holding streamers and a wlecome home banner! Lovely. We had lots of hugs and Charlie the dog didn't quite know what to do with herself, she was so excited. The boys didn't waste any time going inside or exploring the backyard and playing with all their favourite things again. After a long chat with my parents and our wonderful house sitter, we were left to our own devices for the afternoon. It was all a bit surreal and Ben and I didn't know what to do with ourselves! In the following days we were busy cleaning and sorting and organising and I was quite overwhlemed with all the "stuff" everywhere! We caught up with a few friends and it was nice to see familiar faces. Going back to work and school was enjoyable for the kids and I, but not so much for Ben. The first week of term we hit the ground running, getting back into a "normal" routine and activities again. It didn't take long at all. A month on and the trip seemes like a beautiful dream. We were so lucky to have had such an amazing experience and so much family time together. We have all made beautiful memories which we will cherish forever. Til next time...
