Yesterday we left Dubbo and followed the sun directly west along the Mitchell then Barrier Highway for 500kms!!. We were amazed at the constantly straight road and the endless flat plains, although they were surprisingly scrubby. The space and vastness is incredible, I can only imagine what it will be like up the centre! We saw our first wild emus and goats and quite a few wedge-tailed eagles. Ben definitely perfected his wave to fellow caravaners along this route! We passed through Narromine, Nyngan, and Cobar where we stopped for lunch. We pulled up for the night at a rest area about 50kms east of Wilcannia. It was frequented by wild goats and their kids which our kids thought was awesome! We set up a little camp fire and had a beautiful roast lamb dinner under the stars. We were even treated to a few shooting stars!
Today we've completed the journey through outback nsw passing through Wilcannia and onto Broken Hill. Wilcannia was a tiny, tidy, empty town with some beautiful old buildings. Sadly, most buildings were unfortunately boarded up and empty, including the only pub. I imagine that once upon a time it would have been a beautiful, bustling little village. We are looking forward to exploring Broken Hill over the next few days.

Crespy Nice one Megs. Be sure to go for a drive to Silverton and check out the famous Pub, the scene of Mad Max and many others. Safe travels! I'm happy to be posting a comment, but I'm struggling to complete the maths problem at the bottom of the page!
