This morning started with an early start and we truly ended our Yellowstone trip on a high. We left Jackson and drove down to Wilson along the Moose Wilson Road where we were lucky enough to see mule deer, a turkey vulture and a northern harrier. Unfortunately a tree had fallen down across the road so we stopped to see what was happening and somehow managed to miss a massive moose standing in the bushes on the other side of the road. So when we noticed the moose we stopped and admired it and it really wasn't bothered by us as it just continued to munch away! This was definitely our best moose sighting!
By the time we finished watching the moose some lovely people had cleared the road so we were able to continue our journey where we were lucky enough to see a muskrat, flicker and a broad tailed hummingbird.
So we finished our wildlife viewing on a high and went back to the hotel to have some breakfast and then checked out.
Upon arrival to the airport we checked in and then waited for our flights. The rest of the group were leaving before me so we bid our farewells and then I boarded my plane to Denver.
We landed in Denver and everything was going well until I got a message on my phone to tell me that my flight had been delayed by over 3 hours, extending my wait at the airport to about 9 hours so I settled down and caught up on many programs hoping that I would manage to stay awake and my flight wouldn't be delayed any longer!
Unfortuantly my flight was delayed much longer and I didn't end up taking off until gone midnight and we were due to leave at 7.22pm! So I had a very long wait at the airport catching up on some Netflix and then had a bit of a bumpy ride to Calgary.
When we finally landed it was about 2.30 in the morning and then add to this my transfer to the hotel I finally got to bed at around 3.30am, making it an incredibly long day as I got up at 5.30!
