Today we set off from Bicheno, north along the coast to St Helens. The weather was cold and wet, it rained the entire trip but the road was fun and due to only being a bit over 1 hours ride was quite enjoyable.
We arrived in St Helens and stopped at the Bakery for a coffee to warm up as a heap of Targa Tasmania cars drove through town after completing stage 2 of the race, we enjoyed the view of a heap of Porches, Ferraris the odd Lamborghini and Mercedes as we had the coffee before heading to Skippers for fish and chips.
Skippers is a ripper joint, a boat on the water running as a fish and chip shop selling all the local catch. You board the boat to order, a great spot and some of the best fish and chips you could ever taste.
Only yesterday dad was telling me about the mutton bird (Short-tailed shearwater) and how far they travel. Today we were lucky enough to see one when I spotted him near Skippers in town.
We headed to the local supermarket grabbed some supplies and headed back to the accommodation where dad cooked up a ripper t-bone steak and vegies for dinner.
Tomorrow the weather forecast is looking good. We plan to do plenty of k's on the bikes and sightseeing.
Ride on 👊
