We took our time getting going this morning, unpacking and enjoying the space we have for the next couple of weeks. Ian cooked us bacon and eggs for breakfast. With all the domestics out of the way we headed down the road to Ealing Broadway to get the boys a haircut. The queue was rather long and they were open until 7pm so we started with some shops.

Not having flown out of France before and with the car to return, we thought it best to give ourselves plenty of time, heading for the airport early. Quite needlessly really, as returning the car was easier than a rental and they drove us to the terminal. We checked in electronically and proceeded through security with all our luggage. Finished packing the bags, loaded the car and were off on time at 8:30. Decided to drive to Dover by the backroads - very nice but took much longer then anticipated. Rang the rental car company to say we wouldn't make the 1pm drop-off, only to be told that they were open until 4pm! Arrived in Dover ay 3pm, found the hotel up on the cliffs, emptied out the car into our room and then returned down to the Docks to drop the rental car off. Taxied back up to the hote...

Big sleep-in today. Didn't get up until 10! Finished up fridge contents for brekky then off in to Devizes to post a package, get a cheap cellphone for Ian and some more Dr Who for Tom. Kept getting blacker and blacker (the sky that is) until it bucketed down....got drenched. Back to the house to get changed and decided to head for Salisbury. Stopped at Old Sarum for a bit of exercise and a close-up view of the ruins. Down to Salisbury for a quick peek at the Cath...

And it was a fine start to the day, so off to Cardiff. Breakfast at a Little Chef and then straight into the city centre. A quick look around, a peek through the Castle gate (you can't get in anymore without forking-out $60 for a family!). Unfortunately Tom spotted a 'gamers' store right opposite and we spent half and hour looking at Dr Who stuff.
