Spent the morning washing clothes and waiting for Tom to finish his blog. He's starting to get the hang of it now. Weather is grotty again so it was off to Swindon to find some shops. Luckily we had looked on the internet first and we had a couple of malls to look for......and look we did.....and look and look and........anyway, we eventually found the big outlet mall and spent the late afternoon and early evening undercover shopping. Swindon's a bit hopeless for...

On Safari! Since there was a break in the weather we went to Longleat on the off chance that the animals weren't in hiding...luckily they were all out frolicking in the wan English sunshine (and showers of course). Tom really enjoyed the up close and personal encounters with the monkeys trashing the cars, lions and wolves only a car window-width away, feeding the sea-lions and even the interior of Longleat House itself. It was a full-on day.

Weather cleared up this morning so it was off to Stonehenge. Got around in semi-sunshine and then on to Street to Clarkes Village for some serious shopping for junior. He had a ball. Don't think we've ever seen him so excited about picking out clothes. Took the scenic route home and stopped at the local Fox & Hounds for tea. Steak at last!....and they threw in complimentary dessert of strawbs 'n' cream. Excellent end to a full day.

Bit of a lazy day today. Caught up with the washing and tried to connect to the internet so we could upload everything...since you're all pestering us for stuff! Met Martin and Lesley, our landlords. Cottage is smallish but has everything we need, including a pub within 100 metres. Went to Bath in the afternoon to get a protable hard drive from PC World so we can store all of the photos. Gave Tom a quick look around and left just as the thunderstorms arrived.

The time has come to head south already. Ian printed off instructions from the AA site of how to get to Devizes in Wiltshire, avoiding the motorways. The problem was that a few roundabouts had been added causing us to get lost a couple of times. However ,we made it and it was a nice drive, part of which was through Sherwood Forest. Try as we might, we couldn't find any funny little men running around in green tights. Nor did we come across a sheriff in Nottingh...
