Big sleep-in today. Didn't get up until 10! Finished up fridge contents for brekky then off in to Devizes to post a package, get a cheap cellphone for Ian and some more Dr Who for Tom. Kept getting blacker and blacker (the sky that is) until it bucketed down....got drenched. Back to the house to get changed and decided to head for Salisbury. Stopped at Old Sarum for a bit of exercise and a close-up view of the ruins. Down to Salisbury for a quick peek at the Cath...

And it was a fine start to the day, so off to Cardiff. Breakfast at a Little Chef and then straight into the city centre. A quick look around, a peek through the Castle gate (you can't get in anymore without forking-out $60 for a family!). Unfortunately Tom spotted a 'gamers' store right opposite and we spent half and hour looking at Dr Who stuff. Weather started to get drizzly so we went for a drive up into the Brecon Beacons and a ride on the Brecon Mountain R...

Spent the morning washing clothes and waiting for Tom to finish his blog. He's starting to get the hang of it now. Weather is grotty again so it was off to Swindon to find some shops. Luckily we had looked on the internet first and we had a couple of malls to look for......and look we did.....and look and look and........anyway, we eventually found the big outlet mall and spent the late afternoon and early evening undercover shopping. Swindon's a bit hopeless for...

On Safari! Since there was a break in the weather we went to Longleat on the off chance that the animals weren't in hiding...luckily they were all out frolicking in the wan English sunshine (and showers of course). Tom really enjoyed the up close and personal encounters with the monkeys trashing the cars, lions and wolves only a car window-width away, feeding the sea-lions and even the interior of Longleat House itself. It was a full-on day.

Weather cleared up this morning so it was off to Stonehenge. Got around in semi-sunshine and then on to Street to Clarkes Village for some serious shopping for junior. He had a ball. Don't think we've ever seen him so excited about picking out clothes. Took the scenic route home and stopped at the local Fox & Hounds for tea. Steak at last!....and they threw in complimentary dessert of strawbs 'n' cream. Excellent end to a full day.
