As you know I was back to school this week and it went really well!
As of last term Vic and me were sharing our P1 and P2 class with their main teacher, but we've just found out that Madam Juliet and Madam Maria aren't coming back to school. Madam Abia who teaches Nursery is helping Vic with her P1 class and I've spent the week on my own teaching my pupils. Madam Jane came in here and there to teach a lesson on Science but she has to teach the upper years of the school so hasn't always got a chance to come in.
It's a huge responsiblity but I'm loving it so far, even with the Lugandan barrier. I've only had 4/5 pupils so that's probably why it's been so good but still I'm up for the challenge even if it is for only a few weeks until they find some supply teachers.
It's been so sweet teaching them positioning of objects. 'The cup is UNDER the table. The dog in ON the seat' It's been good fun and the children loved making origami shirts in Art too :)
Powdered Milk.. We bought some powdered milk and it's brilliant! We're now able to have a proper breakfast not just 2 slices of bread. Although the muesli is expensive it's got ot be and done and yummmmm it is :)
We headed into Kampala last night for Sophie's big 18th birthday. Sophie took a pledge in Ireland not to drink alcohol until she was 18 years old. So last night she had her first Smirnoff Ice :) She was a good girl and said she didn't feel any different on it (she's so crazy sober anyway!)
Ben knew that Sophie liked Jack Johnson, so for her birthday present he learnt her favourite song of his and printed of the lyrics and sang it to her at the hostel. It was so thoughtful of him :)
Speaking of the the group - They're just wonderful! They make me so feel so great as person! They're all such great listeners; You may only mention one person, perhaps a family member or friend and then someone will bring them up again as if they know them. Conversations are always flowing, smiles always wide and laughing all the time. Everyone is there for eachother and it's only been 5 months (oh yeah 5 moths Thursday wooo) but they've really made me find myself and it's fantastic! Love my wee pals ;)
I'm not at school today as I had to go to the doctors. I've not been feeling very well at the moment. The doctor said to just drink more water than usual and she's given me some medicine and then to go back if it continues.
So tomorrow we are going White Water Rafting and Bungee Jumping (145 feet) Oh my gosh, I'm so nervous!! That's all I need to say - I'll let you know how it goes...
Lots of Love x x x x
