On Sunday we went to Stevens confirmation at St Augustines Church.
A 3 hour service took it's toll but it was lovely seeing Steven in his white shirt and red bow tie, smiling away as the Bishop placed his hands on Stevens head and confirmed him into the church.
(I'll put the photos online next week, as I left my other memory card at home..)
Recently Mr Omens daughter came to stay with him. She can't speak English (although is learning fast) and doesn't speak Lugandan well as she speaks a different tribal language. But Jusinta is the happiest girl I think I have met in Uganda so far. She constantly has a smile on her face or giggling like a chipmunk.
As Mr Omen is our neighbour to the left, she'll pop her head around our door and just watch what we're doing, she's just fasinated. I gave her my camera on Wednesday and she just went wild taking photos of herself, Vic and me and the room. It was lovely to see the expressions on her face.
It must be very isolating especially at school not being able to communicate to a high standard but it never gets to her. If a boy is mean she just pokes her tongue out and runs away laughing.
She's fab and I hope you like the random photos :)
School has been quite this week, as it's been end of term exams.
Madam Alisha thanked me for the great results P2 achieved in their writing exam. With Gladys getting 99% and Muhamad getting the lowest of 82% but for Muhamad that was amazing.
Vic went to the doctors on Monday for a Malaria test after falling sick during re-hearsals. Luckily the results came back negative and she was suffering from a bad flu, so she spent a few days off school recovering. She's feeling better now and returned to school again on Thursday to help set and monitor class exams.
Sanyu was busy today, there are many more staff members which is great!
Robert is doing well, he looks brighter everyone time I see him and is smiling so much more as he grows. He loves it when you kiss him on the cheek his toothless smile just melts your heart :)
It rained so hard Friday. I think it's because I was talking to Aunty Net on Facebook showing off that we were out of the rainy season and it's so hot here and then Wednesday and Thursday it rained, getting heavier each day until it was huge on Friday.
I walked to school in my walking boots, with my red skirt, blue scarf, Vics rain jacket and my bug bag. So many people were staring but not because of what I looked like but as I had a flower behind my ear, they were fasinated.
Who would of thought I would of been wearing such clothes in Africa!! :)
We still haven't caught the mice nor the rat but it's getting serious now as it has started to eat our clothes!!
3 traps are down, including poision so hopefully it'll be over soon! Well, he's very clever - He ate Nuts from one trap and bread from another without it even closing!
Wish us luck that we catch it soon! :)
So not alot has happened this week and think next week will be quiet too as hardly any children turn up in the last week of school. Exams are over so parents prefer to keep the children at home were they can help there.
Until next time, All My Love x x x
