We had another sleep in as our 4wds to take us to Ngorongoro were not leaving until 3pm. We spent most of the morning wasting time at the local shopping centre. And it was a real waste of time as we had already stopped in the day before for supplies.
Eventually we piled our camping gear and back packs into the 4wds to make our way up to our accommodation on the rim of Ngorongoro crater. Along the way we stopped off photos as a lookout over Lake Manyara and to pick up some pink bananas from the markets. Most on our 4wd agreed that these were the nicest bananas we had ever eaten.
The 3 hour drive meant we arrived at our accommodation in the dark. No one was keen on setting up a tent so everyone upgraded to a room. Ella and I weren't so sure so we waited until we knew which patch of grass was the camp-site. It turned out to be a small patch in-between the bar and restaurant. Probably not the best place for a good nights sleep we also chose to upgrade to a room. By this stage most rooms were taken, so someone was kicked out of a room for us. We weren't sure who had to make way but the room was nicely presented, comfortable and well worth the money.
