We had a loose plan to go snorkelling today but waking to rain changed that very quickly. It turned into a lazy morning in bed followed by a walk on the beach to Nungwi. This area is home to some of the more expensive resorts, they all had security guards ensuring we stayed on the beach. This became a slight problem on the way back as the tide had come in and reached the rocks at one point. We had been warned of this and managed to get through the water while it was only thigh deep. Others who spent more time shopping were not so lucky having to walk through chest deep water. The smart way at that stage would have been to catch a taxi the 3-4km (by road, only a short beach walk) back to Kendwa. We spent the afternoon at the beach side bar, enjoying our relaxing beach time.
