About 1 minute after our 4am alarm the rain came bucketing down. We were soaked to the bone taking down our tent, a miserable start to a long day. Of course the rain stopped just as we were leaving. Our early start was an attempt to get to Dar Es Salaam as early as possible, this would give us the best chance of catching the 12:30 ferry to Zanzibar. We left the Snake Park for two days of travel to get us to Zanzibar. From Arusha we had a stop in Moshi which offers a look at Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro stands at 5895m tall with an ice cap. Unfortunately due to cloud cover we didn't get a good look at the near symmetrical cone shape of the mountain. The ice cap did peak out for a few photos though.
