This morning we dropped off our polo and took a transfer to the border between South africa and Mozambique. We gave ourselves close to three hours to get through the border, it turned out to be a wise decision. After breezing through the South African exit we got in line to purchase a visa into Mozambique. This morning we said goodbye to Panzi and had another day driving through Kruger. We had to wait patiently for 5 big male giraffes to get off the road and let us head on our way out of Guerney. This time we drove to the south towards Skukuza and then Malelane where our next accomodation was located. This morning at Panzi we met the local african wild cat. It was hanging around to get a drink of milk, so didnt seem too wild. Although if we got closer within its 2m personal space the wild cat would run away. We set off early for a day of game driving in our polo around Kruger. We were up early, as we were still adjusting to the new timezone, so watched the sunrise from Panzi's viewing platform. The vervet monkeys were stirring in the trees and eventually came down for morning play time. This was unfortunate for the local bushbuck who found himself being chased by 3 or 4 adolescent monkeys. Our accommodation was at Cheetah Lodge, attached to De Wildt Cheetah centre. It had a very energetic (although 16yo dalmation) named Sebastian who we quickly befriended. This morning we did a tour of De Wildt which firstly involved watching the cheetah run. They can reach 120kmh but for the 2 runs that we saw, they weren't quite that speedy. Still impressive though.
