Our accommodation was at Cheetah Lodge, attached to De Wildt Cheetah centre. It had a very energetic (although 16yo dalmation) named Sebastian who we quickly befriended.

This morning we did a tour of De Wildt which firstly involved watching the cheetah run. They can reach 120kmh but for the 2 runs that we saw, they weren't quite that speedy. Still impressive though. Check out the video.

We got to see both regular and 'King Cheetah', a colour variation of normal cheetahs that was previously thought to be an entirely new species. It was actually De Wildt back in 80s that discovered that this wasn't the case when one of their regular cheetahs gave birth to a king in its litter. We also got to see Servals, vultures, wild dogs, hyenas and ostriches (including a newly hatched chick). Most animals were free to wander around our van, and the wild dogs had a fantastic time sprinting from one side to the other as fast as they could.

The afternoon involved a very long drive up to Panzi BushCamp, in Guernsey Reserve near the Kruger Orpen Gate.
