USA Travels
Klong (canal) trip today, followed by a visit to Wat Po big Bhudda. then set off for a visit to the Grand Palace in a group of seven. Within ten minutes we were down to a group of four. How the hell can you lose three people on a straight road? Wandered around the Palace for a while before heading back to the ferry. Guess what, the ferry was packed and we lost another member of the group who (all 6'6" of him) was too timid to push on with the rest of us. HE'S CANADIAN SO FAR TOO POLITE HE NEEDS A FEW DAYS ON THE TUBES IN LONDON WHEN THEYRE WORKING THAT IS SO AS TO GET SOME PRACTISE IN. Down to three, we returned to the Hotel where we have been reunited with the rest of the group. WELL WE HAVE MANAGED TO DODGE THE BULLETS AND AVOID THE DEMONSTRATIONS (YES THEY ARE STILL GOING ON) - THE HOTEL EVEN TELLS YOU WHICH ROADS TO AVOID EACH DAY AS THEY ARE RATHER LIKE ROLLING ROAD BLOCKS. I PROMISE WE WILL UPLOAD SOME PHOTOS TO MAKE IT MORE INTERESTING BUT DAVID HASN'T WORKED IT OUT YET! Night train to Chiangmai Mai tonight where we share a sleeping compartment with two more people. Hopefully I won't snore or we will lose new found friends. This of course takes no account of Ruth's little problem! Let's pray the curry isn't too fiery tonight!
