After very disappointing weather forecasts for the last two days we have had blistering weather which has kept Ruth happy. After a wonderful meal last night, just around the corner from the hotel we left at about 9.15 this morning in a tuk tuk for Colombo Fort Station. We spent the last two nights in a hotel on the coast giving us a full day at the beach resort which sported an excellent restaurant. This morning we had an hours drive to Colombo which seemed more third world than the rest of SriLanka. A long drive today taking in the Portuguese port of Galle and a wonderful turtle sanctuary. Arrival late at the hotel led on to a cocktail party and an offer (negotiated by me) of 20% off at the a la carte for the evening meal. fabulous.
