USA Travels
Having crossed London in a couple of hours we registered our bags and surprise, surprise we had lots of time in Heathrow Duty Free. Ruth of course had her bag searched yet again at security. Must be her shifty looks! The flight was on time and though a bit cramped we had good food and plenty of films to watch. The Russians behind us led the clapping as the Captain got us back to earth and the landing formalities including baggage retrieval were the smoothest I have experienced. We were met by our CEO having cleared customs and whisked away to our hotel about an hour from the Airport. I had thought I was pretty used to third world driving styles but judging by the blaring horns and near misses this one might take the biscuit. As the minibus driver grounded the sump into the sand as we reached the Hotel I knew there would be plenty to laugh at as we drive around the Island. We spend two nights at The Club Palm Bay. I mention it's name not necessarily in recommendation! Within ten minutes of arriving at the room we were having the Safe reset, the fan fixed and the aircon recharged with Gas. Oh, and a lesson on how to wrench the patio doors open - More brute force than technique. This involved a total of seven hotel employees some in overalls, some in long skirts, some in uniform, all extremely pleasant and all promising complete satisfaction in ten minutes. Two hours later we abandoned the room and left them to their fiddling and smiling! I have just remembered that the red tiled floor in the bedroom has recently been given a coat of paint, as has the bright yellow valance surrounding the bottom of the bed! Having tried the beer we are now sat in the setting sun by the pool, too tired to swim but a quick wiff of the old pits tells me I will have to shower before Dinner, I might go for the rugged look though and put off shaving until tomorrow......remember how Ruth loathes beards! I did say to Ruth that this rugged look might be known as 'going commando' but Ruth assures me that this means something quite different. This is obviously a spot for weddings as can be seen in the pictures. The aircon Man has just walked past us with our handset. I hope it's not too warm tonight! Take care all. David and Ruth

Diane And you spent last Tuesday evening trying to convince us to go travelling! I hope the air con got mended and Ruth managed to have the massage she had tried to book. It sounds good fun and I am glad you both managed to make it there. Look after each other and watch out for the traffic! Diane and Paul
