We were up early again this morning ad Christie was doing the Nevis bungy, and we were both going to do the swing! It was kind of nice going up just to watch Christie and not freaking out haha. I was able to go across with her to the cable car that you jump from which was really cool - scary enough in itself, I had to wear a harness and all! I knew as soon as I was there that I had made the right decision not to do it - no chance whatsoever of me doing that jump haha. Was really cool watching the others though! Christie was really good too, didn't even hesitate! She loved it!
Afterwards we went back across to land and then went to do the swing! It was pretty cool as we were both together, but as soon as we were getting strapped in I started to have second thoughts haha, a 70m drop off a cliff isn't really as easy as it sounds! We were attached and then suspended in the air for a couple of seconds, then he let go of us and we were freefalling!! I was so scared I couldn't even scream haha. We did a massive swing back and forth for ages, and after the initial drop it was actually pretty awesome!! Glad I did it, but really really glad I did it beside Christie haha!
After we got our feet safely back on land we went to the office to wait for the bus and for Christie's DVDs to get made! There were computers there which was cool and I got to skype aislinn for a bit which was really cool! Unfortunately the bus arrived and cut y off mid conversation so when we got back into town we jumped back on to the computers and I skyped her again. So good to talk to her!
After a bit we decided to actually move and do something but we were both knackered!! We went for a wander around town and got some of the amazing looking raspberry and chocolate cake we had been eying up in Fergbaker since we had arrived! It was seriously yummy!! Then we went to Happy Travel where we had been in and out of a few times asking about stuff, and booked our activities for tomorrow - I was doing the mammoth Milford Sound trip and Christie was doing a LOTR horseriding tour. They were really nice in there, got a wee bit of a discount and some free chocolate from a random passing bunny rabbit haha - must have been promoting some sort of Easter thing! We also booked to do the luge in town that afternoon.
The luge was really cool! We got the cable car up the mountain overlooking the town - which I actually found a little bit scary, how sad is that! - and at the top there is really awesome views. You can do a bungy from there over the town which looked pretty fun. Then trey have the luge track, which is pretty much a downhill course that you go down on a go-kart type thing! It was pretty fun, you got a ski lift up to the top which was always interesting, and then went down to the bottom. I managed to get stuck at one point which was a bit embarrassing haha, some kid had to push me free! As we went up on the ski lift we could see the paragliders too which was really cool! We had ended up running out of time to go paragliding but I'll do it somewhere else. You basically get strapped up to a guy with a parachute and run off the mountain then glide down! Looked awesome!
After all that we were craving some sushi! Went to have a look for it and ended up only finding it in a food court where I got distracted by garlic naan with some curry haha, it was yummy though! We went back to the hostel for a nap, and I grabbed a tiny bit of the free spaghetti bolognese there to fill me up for dinner, then went to bed! As we were getting ready for bed we heard some girls in the room talking about going to get drink, so we asked them to pick us each up a cider while we napped haha - very cheeky but it worked!
We slept for a couple of hours then got up and drank our ciders with the girls from our room in the lounge. They were nice, but on kiwi experience and not over friendly lol. We finished our drink then went to altitude but didn't see anyone, so we went to World Bar where we had a voucher for, and chatted for a bit. When two American guys came over and started talking to us we decided to call it a night, and headed home fairly early via mcdonalds lol.
