Woke up this morning to the alarm of the kiwi guy in our room - 7am is far too early!! I got up and packed etc before we checked out and then Christie and I walked down the road a bit to a place called Puzzling World! It was lots of fun, lots of opticial illusions and puzzles and stuff, a little bit like Camera Obscura at home - but with a maze!! The maze was awesome craic!! Actually had so much fun haha, Christie and I split up and you had to find the 4 towers at the corners and then find your way out. Thought I was doing really well until I tried to find my way out - think I started to get a bit worried when I couldn't find it which made it harder haha! We eventually found each other and found the exit though.
After that we headed back to the hostel for a bit of lunch and waited for our bus to Queenstown to arrive at 2. When we got on the bus we saw a couple of people that had been on our bus further north but not people I knew particularly well! Also met an american guy called Jay who seemed pretty nice. I slept for most of the journey. We passed a river at one point that was from LOTR when they are in the boat and there's all the statues at the side of the river - it was really cool!
On the way into town we stopped at the Kawarau bridge where the bungee was! I had spent the best part of the last 2 months telling myself that i didn't need to do a bungee, it just wasn't me and I have the rest of my life to do it if I change my mind! So I was basically set on just leaving it... Then we went and had a look. At 43m it is pretty high, but didn't look anywhere near as bad as I thought it would. I started to think I might give it a go, but wasn't committed enough to actually book anything while we were there. After that we had about 20 minutes to get into Queenstown!
We checked into Nomads because I had vouchers for there, despite the official Stray hostel being Base. We Went for a wander round town and picked up a few ciders - Rekorderlig! - and had them in the common area in the hostel while we tried to organise our time in Queenstown - there is a lot to do there! While there we chatted to a few people and there was a free "dinner" - standard sausage sandwich lol. Not the best quality food in the world but oh well!
After we had ourselves organised we showered and went for a wander around town. We went straight to the bungee place to book the bridge bungee for first thing in the morning before we changed our minds! Scary stuff but it had to be done! After that we went to a place called World Bar which served teapots of cocktails which is really cute!! Really yummy cocktails too. We chatted for a bit then had a bit of a walk around but were pretty tired and had an early morning so we decided to have an early night - just a quick stop at Fergburger for chips on the way home!
