Well today we are getting organized to catch the train to Florence, Italy at 1:00pm. We are doing the "Time Warp" and travelling on the bullet train, hold onto your hats!
We really enjoyed Venice, we stayed away from the tourist areas as much as possible and our visit was way more enjoyable, (no subway stations to figure out, so glad that is behind us). Venice has so many pockets of residential areas, walking through mazes of buildings down narrow alleys and then it opens up to small piazza,s a nice spot to stop, relax and enjoy the architecture of the buildings, some lunch and people watch. It is so difficult to imagine how they built this city on an island with all the tall narrow buildings and what they had to do to get supplies here to build it, and not just buildings there are grand churches and palaces. A wonder! We are off to the train station, next time we connect we will be in Florence, the birthplace of Renaissance!
