Saturday in Rome yesterday was a very rainy day started early and never stopped. We spent a few hours in the rain wandering into the small shops in the area. Today was another nice day to walk, not too hot, just right, they were calling for rain but we are hoping it holds out until tonight. We started our walk from Trasteveres, stopped in to visit Basilica Santa Maria which is one of the oldest churches of Rome. Beautiful day in Rome for a walk. Tom and I toured the streets around the Forum and Colleseum today. We walked around for 5 hours still not seeing everything. We survived the two train rides from Monterosso. We barely got onto the first train because there were so many tourists, we waited for an hour for the train and the train only stops for 5 minutes and does not wait for anyone.
