We are off to Venice Italy travelling on the overnight train tonight boarding at 8pm travelling for 13.5 hours. We have sleeping compartments which should be interesting. Hopefully it will not be as challenging as travelling the subway the last four days. Au revoir Paris!

Notre Dame Cathedral construction began in 1163, construction continued for another 200 years. During the French Revolution, anti Christian extremists looted and badly damaged Notre Dame. We spent the morning exploring The Louvre, along with thousands of other visitors. We were so glad we bought tickets ahead of time because we bypassed long line ups to buy tickets so it was nice to wait 5 minutes and go right in. You enter under the glass pyramid where the main reception area is and you venture out to the wings which have each their own areas of interest. Chateau Versailles, what can we say, it is a symbol of absolute monarchy that was ruled from within its walls from 1682 - 1789.
