Hello all. With magnetic island done it was a long day on the coach up to cairns via a trip to a crocadile farm. Got to see some rather big crocs feeding along with aligaters in seprate cages. Also had kangaroos that ate out of your hands and the usaul snake around your neck thing. So with that done it was back on the coach to cairns, arriving at my hostel about 7pm. New roommates all seemed ok and then it was out to dinner and a few drinks. I managed to book a whole day diving for the next day so it was only a few drinks before an early night. Up early in the morning to check in at 7.30am for the trip to dive the great barrier reef, with boarding at 8am and departure 8.30am. The boat was rather nice, purpose built for dive and snokling trips unlike the old wooden boats used in thailand. So after getting your buddys for diving and the paperwork we arrived about 10am at our first site. It was a 3 dive trip, with the highlight of the first dive being the reef tip shark that we saw, about 4ft long enough if you ask me. The second site that we moved onto we managed to see a clown fish, although better known as nemo! Along with a stingray and other fish. Then it was time for lunch before we could complete our final dive where we was lucky to see a sea turtle. With all our dives completed it was back to the harbour and day over. My final day in cairns was spent looking around the shops, getting a few bits including a rather cool cairns fish t-shirt. Then a spot of sunbathing, making the most of the sun before new zealand. Then watched indy 4 at the cinama before bed. Up early to pack before my flight to alice springs and the rock!
