18 june, franz joesph glacier day. Today we walked up the glacier about 8 miles in all of walking up, across and down the glacier. We got to the glacier face about 10.30 clipped on our clampons to our hiking boots, clampons are spiked soles for the ice by the way. Then we started our accent up the glacier. It was an amazing day and I have got some amazing photos too of the glacier. That night was a quite night as we were all tired after walking the whole day. Next morning it was onto wanaka via a stop for a walk around some great lake, which apprantly is the most photographed lake in the world. Probaly because all the tour buses stop there for over 1 hour, not much else to do. Although with the mountains in the back ground it does look nice. Wanaka was another quite night, not had many of those in new zealand so cant complain. The idea of wanaka is to relax before hitting queenstown, the adventure capital of the world. The wanaka place that we stayed at is a hotel thats been changed into a backpackers so it still more like a hotel which is nice after some of the places that we have stayed in. Then this morning it was a 9pm start, going to some maze\illusion place on the way which was alright. Once that was done it was on to the bungy jump centre where we watched a short film about bungy jumping, and where people doing jumps over the next week had to pay. Its the worlds very first bungy site there, and this afternoon I did the k-bridge bungy jump. I must admit to being scared s***less, but some how I managed to jump. I did have the entire kiwi bus there to cheer me on which was cool and helped a lot. Afterwards it was more a feeling of relief more than elation, although a few hours on I do feel rather good about it. So thats my travels upto date, I am in queenstown, where you can do anything and everything.
