We managed to get tickets for the england rugby game against the all blacks in christchurch, so upon arrival in queenstown on friday, we hired a few cars ready for our road trip. Leaving queenstown about 9am for the long drive to christchurch, which took about 7 hours on the road plus 1 more for lunch on the way. We checked in to our hostel about 5pm which give us just enough time for a bite to eat and a drink. We had decided to get our faces painted in england colours in the hope that we would get on tv, which some of us managed to achive. So we walked the 20 minutes walk to the ground and got in just as the teams was walking out. The all blacks performed the haka, the kicked off. That was about as good as it got as england got thrashed 44 - 13. The crowd at rugby is mixed unlike football and there was quite a lot of new zealanders who seemed to hate us english, so we decided to keep quite as we was out numbered. Although we did burst into a chorus of swing low as we all left the ground just to let them know that we were still there. It was back to the hostel to wash of the face paint before going out to see what the bars are like there, before the drive back to queenstown the next day. So that was our road trip done, good weekend just a shame that england was rubbish really.
