Wow, I leave for Sydney tomorrow morning and then home the next morning. I thought I'd throw in one final blog to wrap things up. I had a wonderful study abroad experience. I was able to meet heaps of new people and see things that most people from the United States will never see in their entire lifetime. I'm pretty sure everybody that travelled with me has had similar thoughts about their trip, and everybody is now ready to go home to catch up with family and friends. We'll just have to see all of the little changes that occurred back home while being gone for almost five months, and I'm sure it won't be long until I wish that I could be back here in beautiful Western Australia. I was nervous coming over here, especially the day before, but I am so glad that I was able to make this trip.
It's hard to think of anything specific that really stands out from my trip, and I'm sure things will surface as time passes. I'll just list a few fun things that I've done down here: meeting new people, partying with new people, experiencing a new culture and new lingo, surf camp, the boat party, two trips to Rottnest Island, snorkeling, seeing kangaroos and koalas, the ocean and beaches, a trip down south to Albany, a trip up north to Broome visiting with Aboriginal people, a trip to Malaysia, community dinners, common room hangout sessions, going to more movies at the theater than ever before, getting good at pool, eating gelato, shopping at the markets, visiting the Fremantle Prison, playing footy, watching footy, and possibly most importantly, learning about myself.
I want to thank everybody who made this trip possible for me! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I will always remember. Again, I am so excited to see everybody and catch up! See you soon!
