So I'm writing this blog in a word document because losing another one would be simply disastrous. Yesterday all of the study abroad students and I went on the first field trip. We started off by taking a bus for a 45 minute ride to Caversham Wildlife Park. I'll load up a separate photo album just for Caversham because I took a ton of pictures. At the park we saw tons of animals native to Australia. The highlights of course were the koalas, kangaroos, dingos, wombats, and the Tasmanian devil. The tour guide broke us into groups and we were able to touch the koalas (who were mostly sleeping). My favorite part was petting and feeding the kangaroos. These kangaroos were extremely tame and not afraid of people, but usually you can get nowhere near a wild kangaroo. Some of the kangaroos would shake your hand just like a dog would. I also rode a camel, just cuz why not? After the wildlife park, we went to a chocolate factory. We sampled some free chocolate, but it was not very exciting. We did, however, make sure to get the air conditioned bus because the other group stole it after Caversham. It was really hot yesterday, but what else is new. Some friends and I went to South Beach after we got back to take a dip. No jellyfish this time, unfortunately. I survived my first week of classes, but it seems like it may be rough as weeks progress. We have several big papers for classes, so I am going to try and get started on them soon and spread them out. Anyways, I am going to go and eat, so enjoy the pics of Caversham. I also updated some of the other albums and added some captions.
