This week was the first week of classes. Things are going well and I am slightly glad to have some structure in the form of classes in my life. I am very interested in all the subjects I am taking; Managing Innovation, Managing People and Organizations, Education in Nature, Sport Coaching, and Multiculturalism in Australia.
Today was the second day of Multiculturalism class, and we took a fieldtrip to see some of the public art works of Melbourne. Unknown to me, Melbourne is admittedly the graffiti capital of the world. We toured a few of the more famous hidden lanes throughout the city, and saw some of the coolest artwork ever. Some is sanctioned by the state, but most is comprised of individuals expressing their identity or political beliefs. There are literally hundreds of hidden lanes covered in this type of graffiti, some tasteful, some questionable, but always very interesting to look at.
