Yesterday was an interesting day...
After sleeping about 12 hours to recover from my jetlag/travel exhaustion the night before, I woke up bright and early (6:30AM!!) refreshed and ready to take on the world.
I went with some friends to the Victoria Market. It is a huge open air market with everything you could imagine from fresh produce, meat and vegetables to all types of gifts, clothes and souveniers. It was truly unbelievable. I bought a bunch of fresh fruit, eggs, and bread to keep back at my apartment.
Later in the day I took a jog around campus to check it out. Campus is amazing. They mix really old style gothic architecture with new age buildings right next to eachother... so much for villanova this place is great. Its really big too, about a 20 minute jog around the entire outside of campus.
At night I went out on the town with some other nova kids. I finally got to mingle with some locals, who were really sweet dudes, and really friendly toward americans. Within minutes I was joking around with them like old friends.
Today starts the Melbourne Welcome orientation program for international students. I get to stay at one of the old university colleges on campus for 4 nights. It should be real fun because I get to really start meeting new people from all over.
