Australian Rules Football, also known as footie, is Victorias sport of choice. Derived from the abrigonees and created to keep cricket players fit in the offseason, it has become the epitome of sport in southern Australia.

The game is like a crossbreed between soccer and rugby. Points are scored by kicking a ball through goalposts on each side of the field. The ball is moved by running with it, kicking it, or passing it much like an underhand volleyball serve. The games are fast paced and hard hitting, with loud, rowdy fans and players to boot. Pushing and wrestling, while illegal, are commonplace in each game.

While not quite as in depth as american football, it definitely makes for an awesome evening. I have yet to choose a team yet, but ill be sure to announce it when I do.
