First of the Djurgarden Island museums was the Nordiska Museet which was a Swedish culture museum. The exterior itself was quite impressive and modelled on some of the Danish Castles.

The theme was the Swedish home. Exhibitions were divided into fashion thru the ages, doll houses, table setting displays, festivals such as Christmas, wood furniture, living rooms thru the ages.

There was also folk dress and ornaments, traditional winter clothing, and folk textiles.

A staircase had an interesting display on Ottoman artwork.

Outside were lots of students in the graduation sailors caps partying in a closed area and drinking lots of beer.
