gibralter hotel was on the spanish side coz cheaper
they speak funny south african dialect gibraltese
which is where the name gibberish comes from
the border guy wanted to know if i worked in gibraltar

made it to europa point whjich is the southern tip
gibraltar is a v shape sticking out into the sea
europa point is the tip
bigger thn it looks takes one hour to walk in winding streete clinging the rock
good job my hotel was not on this side

they have a mosque there built by the saudis and they do they azaan prayer call
then went back into town to take the cable car up
tourist guy gave me wrong info that u can go upto 8pm
didnt tell me the caves and wwii siege tunnels were closed by then
also lots of monkeys roaming

i bought these biscuits from the supermarket that said fibre
then i read on the packet it says not to eat more than three or u have laxitive problems
i had been eating half the pack each day and didnt know why my stomach was curdling
anyway, i had to run back to the hotel as my stomach was about to burst so couldnt eat fish and chips or ribena in gibraltar

this morning bus to algeciras to take ferry to tangers
ferrys have never worked out for me
first company said the next ferry is at 3pm
another one said there was a fast ferry at 130 or a slow one at 11 wich takes 3 hours and gets there same time as the fast ferry

so i buy the 11 am ticket but it is not shown on the departure board till 12
anyway i get there by 3
two people already asked me for money at the spanish port
the ferry was very nice and they take ur luggage in the hold unlike dover where u have to walk around with it

crossing was nice, bit cloudy so did not melt on deck
one side u can see spain, other side africa
they play arabic disco music from the 70s on the crossing
i was so excited the bezt part of the trip about to come but how soon that changed
the passport guy kept saying i was pakistani even though i have a uk passport so i had to say yes to make him happy then he stamped it

so everyone here is a scavenger trying to rip u off
this guy tries to get me to goto a hotel so i show him my reserv&ation
then he helps flag down a cab but gets in with me and comes to thje hotel
after i pay the driver he wants money too and i shjowed him i only had a 100 note = 15 dollar so he took that and said he would show me around town

then the guy in the hotel takes me to my room and ouright asked for a tip
i showed my wallet that i just had big notes
the room is really nice beachfront with the sound of waves

only access is by cab and they keep scamming u
going back the guy in the hotel got me a cab and reminded me not to foget his tip
he told the driverr 30 dirhan 4:50 dollars
when we got there he points to the 200 note = 30 dollars
i said no and paid 30

then i looked for the old guy that follwed me to my hotel
i found an old guy with a beard who spoke good english and claimed to have never seen me even though he came to my hotel and tool 100 dirham
i told him he was lying but turned out it was the wrong old guy with a beard talking english

so i tell him i want to get something to eat and will meet him later
he comes into the restaurant with me and sits down
i said he can leave and i will meet him later
then i tell him outright i am not paying for his meal
then i end up paying 70 for both os us = 11 dollars

so he takes me around and is just showing boring places like the bus station and post office;; i said i want to goto the old town but he is planning his itinerary for tomorrow
i get fed up and say i will walk by myself
then he wants another 200 dirham = 30 dollar
i refuse as i already gave 100 and paid for a meal when i siad i wouldnt and he never said any extra cost::::

also he had offered to take me to this house to meet girls yet his name is mohammed and has a grey billy goat bezard like a mullah so i have to remind him i am a hajji

for the first time in my travels i am feeling quite worried about all the money scamming
to show how scared i am this kid on a skateboard asks me something so i ignore him:::: then he tells his friend on a bike and they are both pointing at me so i sont know if they will both charge be on their bikes so i put my hands on both my pockets

tangier has a bad reputation as all the african illegals come here to get across::: maybe the rest of morocco is nice but i wouldnt recommend coming to tangier as a solo travellor
have read lots of sories about walking at night or staying late at the beach
will see how i make out tomorow my first full day here
