Had a big touring day today. We started with a metro trip to the Eiffel Tower and were ready, first in line in the reserved section for our 9:30 booking by 9:15. Curiously, the tower didn't open until 11:10am, with no plausible explanation except for a delayed opening and then allegedly security involving the lift???!!! Anyway, it was soooo cold for the 2 hours of waiting. We bought hot chocolates for the kids to keep them going. They were amazing, amusing themselves and keeping calm - no complaints!!! Eventually, after the security checks etc, we were at the lift ready to ascend by 11:30!!! Looong build up! Of course it was wonderful and a terrific experience and we all loved it!! After that, we had a lovely Boulangerie lunch in the park and then we were off again on the bus to the Music Museum. Looked around there for a couple of hours and then were back on the bus bound for San Michel for dinner. Had a great set menu and the kids were thrilled to be able to order escargot, onion soup etc from a wide range of French dishes. All good there. Then we were off on another hike to The Seine, for a one hour river cruise. It was lovely, but marred by extraordinarily loud and rude Dutch teenagers, sitting directly behind us, totally unsupervised by their teachers. Quite disappointing really!! Another metro trip back to the hotel for a cup of tea and packing up for our coach trip to Armiens in the morning. We will wander around there for a couple of hours, have lunch and then continue to Albert, where we stay for 6 nights. Stickman was amazing today tackling numerous legs of the metro (changing trains too) and LOTS of stairs. I'm sure his widdle legs are VERY tired!!! Au revoir!! Xx
