First stop was Mary River where we went on a boat on the billabong there. it is home to freshwater and saltwater crocodiles. saw a few of both and a turtle and some big water birds. later we went to Ubirr to view the aborignal rock art, which was really good. Despite the heat and the high humidty managed to walk to the top of the look out which gave 360 degree views of Kakadu NP. after this went to yellow water to watch the sunset. there was a saltwater croc in the water here. Really nice sunset. camped overnight and up early the next day to drive to Jim Jim Falls. this include a drive on a 4wd track which was very bumpy but great fun. we then had to hike 1km to the base of the falls, climbing over rocks to get to the falls, it was quite a hard walk as it wa hunid despite it being so early. when we got there it was really nice to jump into the water to cool off. the water was cold but nice. swam to the waterfall which is only a trickle as it is near the end on the dry season. the water fall is over 100ms high so is very impressive. after hiking back and another 4wd drive track including crossing a river we were at Twin Falls. WE had to get a boat up the gorge to the walking track. here we walked to the base of Twin Falls. there are freshwater crocs in the water and we did spot one so arent able to swim here. this waterfall was still running , not as high as Jim Jim Falls but wider and still impressive. Later after more 4wd drive tracks we went to the aborignal culture centre. We then drove along the old Jim Jim falls road which is a long dirt track to view some huge termite mounds. one was nearlty 5m high.
The weather in Kakadu was very very hot and humid but was worth it too see the two waterfalls and the wildlife
