Deborahs journey
This three day trip included alot of driving along the Stuart Highway and not many stops on the way. We did stop at Devil Marbles, which are huge boulders on the landscape and is an aboriginal cultural area. walked around some of the area, as the boulders and rocks are spread out for quite some way. Tonight we stayed at a cattle station and watched a slide show about the running of the station which was quite interesting as its all completely different to farming back home!!
The next day we went swimming in some natural thermal pools. We had also crossed the Tropic of Capricorn so were offically in the Tropics! The pool was really nice and was good to cool down. Stayed overnight in Katherine.
The next day we spent the morning at Katherine Gorge, where i went for a walk up too the lookout and then back throught the bush back to the gorge. Unless you go on a boat cruise you are really unable to view all the different gorges here and i only saw the beginning of the gorge.
In the afternoon we stopped at Edith Falls. Went swimming again here, swam across to the waterfalls and was a nice way of cooling down in the tropical heat and relaxing. Finally arrived in Darwin around 5pm. its hot and humid here!!
