Deborahs journey
On the drive from Wanaka to here we stopped at the Kawara bridge for some very mad people on the bus to do a bungy jump. This is the smallest one in Q/town to do but still did not make me want to do it. After arriving in Qtown some of the group had booked to do their second bungy out of their trilogy so i went up the gondala to the bunjy place with them. From here there are fantastic viewsof the lake and mountains. q/town is different to what i was expecting and much prettier. In the evening we had a group night out to celebrate them all doing their bungy and this is where some of the group split up so is nice to go out together. me and My friend won the draw in the bar to have vip seats and free drinks for the FA cup final so i was able to sit and watch liverpool but with the time differene didnt get to bed til 6am!!!
After catching up on sleep and waiting for the group to get back from the final and biggest bungy we all went out agian as there was a film crew from the discovery channel in the world bar. Ou driver told us to go there and we woul get drink discount so the place looked busy. me ad my friend were filmed and had to sign a release form so they can use the footage. not sure when its going to be on tv. The next day was spent pretty much the same and all went out so we could say goodbye to the ones moving on the next day. This involved a pub crawl around q/town!!
On 16th i went hang gliding. This was up the remarkable mountain range and i ran of the mountain about 2000 feeet up. i did it at the end of the day and the sun was setting and the views of the mountains were awesome. you do feel like ur flying and there is not much keeping u up. we did a few acrobatics and i was able to fly it for a bit. was in the air for 10-15 mins. its not the same rush i got from sky diving but was still great fun.
18th may
went to arrowtown again today. enjoyed the free fudge tasting and chocolate tasting in the sweet shop and went to look around the chinese settlemen village where the chinese goldminers used to live.
19th May
my friend moira joined me in Queenstown today so showed her queenstown and booked to go on the luge tomorrow. For dinner we went to Ferg burgers which are famous here as the are really huge freshly cooked burgers and as they are made to order i could have one without tomato, relish and onions! it was gorgeousa and very filling. in the evening we went out so moira was able to sample the teapots in world bar!!
20th May
Had a lie in and some lunch and then went up on the gondala to go on the luge. WE had seven rides here, there was only the scenic track open and after the first ride i was comfortable with going quite fast. Luckily it was quiet so didnt have to worry about being over taken. i managed to survive without falling off!!! Had a quiet evening after cooking dinner, playing some pool as we are up early tomorrow to go on the 'bottom bus'
