Deb's Adventures
This morning we got a slow start. We all needed a little additional rest and honestly there is no reason to be in a hurry.
We left the condo at around 11am. Destination, Strawberry Park Hot Springs. The Springs are a 20 minute drive out of town up a winding dirt track. We did stop at one spot to look back towards town and the ski area. It was quite a view.
Strawberry Park is a beautiful hot springs resort built into the river. They have about a dozen different tubs and pools built of stone with natural floors. The pools vary in temperature from cool and refreshing to so hot it is hard to spend more then a few minutes in them.
Eric and I have been visiting Strawberry Park for 20 years and they have done a fabulous job of expanding and improving this place. It is so relaxing and beautiful. They have built additional pools and picnic areas and bathroom buildings and have gorgeous gardens and plenty of little waterfalls and the price has not changed. It is still only $10 a person. What a great value.
We soaked for a while. Ate a picnic lunch under the trees with the chipmunks. Soaked again. Lounged in the sun and allowed the lithium hot spring water do it's trick. We were all so relaxed that the short walk up the hill back to the car felt like climbing a fourteener.
On our way home we stopped and bought some beautiful rainbow trouts for dinner. Ray marinaded them and grilled them for dinner. We ate down in the courtyard of the Kutuk Condo complex where we are staying. We had a great view of the ski area and the Yampa Valley and we all really enjoyed our dinner. Me especially because someone else cooked. What a treat. Thank you Ray.
We had a little soak in the hot tub after dinner and then off to bed. Another fabulous day on Holiday!
