Returning to Townsville - 10th September 2012

It is with a heavy heart that we return to Townsville and our motorbikes to continue our trip home. Little Orlena is stable and will be getting some intensive rehabilitation over the next few months so now is probably the best time to return and head for home. We will be modifying our original plans and still have to work out exactly which way we will return home. Weather conditions across the top of Australia with the approaching wet season and heat will dictate what we do. Planning will be done as we get back and get our heads around continuing the trip while the little darling lies in Hospital back in WA.

The thing that gives us hope to continue is the massive dedicated team of rehabilitation staff readying themselves to guide Orlena through to her best possible outcome. She has Doctors of all types, dedicated Nurses, Speech Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Play Therapists and lots of loving family all supporting her.

One positive to come out of this trip back was that we got to attend the Sports carnivals of three of our grandchildren. Something we would have missed otherwise. We were also able to catch up with all twelve of our grandchildren along with assorted children and relatives.
