Hi Trish ,
the internet is a wonderful thing ! I was thrilled to find your blog and see your great pics . I remember you as always being full of life and humour . I'm happy to see you are still going strong , enjoying life and travelling on your bike , and that you have grandkids !
I was in your group at Graylands and would share lunch with you , Anne and Gracie on the grass .
I remember singing a Donovan song with Gracie, " Yellow is the Colour , at a Graylands concert ." . I wrote a bit .
Remember the river chockers with jellyfish at Matilda Bay when we tried for the Bronze Medallion ? The frog jumps at Phys. Ed ? I even remember lectures on Mao and the Long March !
It's been such a long time . I taught for a while , then worked as a writer for the Ed. Dept for a short time , travelled o'seas and in Aust. , worked up north in W.A. and Queensland , became a parent , returned to studies , and now resting up in Perth .
It would be great to see you all again sometime !
Give my regards and best wishes to Anne and Gracie when you see them .

Sorry I've been so long to return your msg Carol. I haven't looked at this site for many months. Yes I did teach Year 1/2 classes at Kambalda West Primary, I have fond memories of being there from 1971 till end of 1973, as Miss Bensley, then I married and was Mrs Dunstan. We then moved to Tasmania where I taught for 3 years. Yes I remember Mrs Venville, and Mr Harry Venville was the Principal? But my memories of them are a bit faded. I hope you get to see this msg.

In 1972 I was 10 years old and we lived in Kambalda West after moving from Mount Magnet, say 18 months before. Can you tell me if you were at Kambalda West primary and what was your name please. Mr or Mrs who? Thankyou very much. I remember a Mrs Venville ( I think). Do you remember her?

Hi Trish
Nice to hear from you. I remember Grace as well. I had a principal a few years ago whose brother was married to her. I'm still teaching down the south west but cut down to 4 days a week. I find it a very full time job now and would never recommend it to anyone who wants a "normal life". I also got out for some years but went back to it after my son was born in 1989. I do vaguely remember running into you somewhere, maybe that was in the goldfields days, but I have a feeling it was later than that. (memories take a while to surface as there are so many of them!) I haven't kept in regular touch with anyone but ran into Di (Thomson) who was the girl I boarded with by chance at a PD in Perth. She is still teaching and lives and teaches in your area, maybe Maddington/ Kelmscott. Please say hi to Anne and Grace when you see them. I don't imagine there are many of us left in the job these days. (I'm counting down myself!)

Hi Diane! I remember you from Graylands days. Anne is a Catholic school principal, and I must catch up with her and Grace who was also at Graylands soon! We 3 went through school together and have kept in touch all these years. Have lost touch with other Graylands graduates. I am retired now, was teaching between Tasmania and WA years ago, then worked as a science technician for the last 20 yrs, after gaining laboratory qualifications to work in the mining industry. But I ended my happy working life in high schools, using the teaching qualifications. Are you still teaching and living in Perth now?
Diane
Hi Trish,
Stumbled across this site by accident and got interested in your travel adventures. On reading the one about Onslow, I realised you are an old acquaintance from Graylands....and we were also in the same group. Glad to hear your life is going so well for you! I know Onslow well as spent 27 years in the North West. My first posting was Boulder, so we were almost neighbours in 1972 but I don't remember running into you up there. I remember you well and your friend...(was her name Anne?) Are you still teaching? Are you in contact with anyone from the old Graylands days? Diane O'Brien (Brown)

Lovely to hear you and Maria are both enjoying life John. Enjoy Myanmar. We will be exploring WA west coast from Perth to Coral Bay as soon as we can find the warm enough weather, and all is well with family.

Well done you two. Great photos. Pity about sand-flies in Darwin (you obviously did not drink enough). Glad you got over to Marble Bar and karanjini......................we are off to Myanmar next week for about a month.

We were in Katherine NT and with the time difference and the fact that were in bed early for a before dawn get up the next morning, we missed it. Back in WA now at Kununurra - 3 nights, people at the pool said about it and how they felt it here, first we knew.

Did you feel the earthquake last night? It was felt as far a Fitzroy! :-o
