It was time to make a Murray River pilgrimage. Having seen the Murray River up as far as Mildura and having seen how it is flowing and looking healthier, we wanted to see what effect it was having downstream. Saturday 31 March: We rode to Strathalbyn which is a historic little town full of beautiful old Scottish heritage buildings, and lots of antique shops. I left my moto guzzi at Garage Motorcycles to get a 20,000km service done on her, to be picked up on Monday. We browsed antique shops….some were just full of junk, others had interesting things. After leaving Burra we travelled via Kapunda where we spent some time looking at the town. Kapunda was a copper mining town before Burra but in the end not as big a mine. It was also the home of Sir Sydney Kidman ( of cattle station fame ) for some time. The town and interpretive centre were great. Of course we couldn't leave without a look at the copper mine.
