Trish has finally made it to Cowell and the famous Cowell Black Jade. After wanting to come here for a long time she was not disappointed. Normally people can only go to the Jade Showrooms at the local Motel. When we arrive at the Motel we asked about seeing the factory area, which is not always available for viewing.

The lady said that there was a car over at the factory compound so we scurried over the road just in time to catch the Jade cutter shutting down the diamond chain, which was cutting a very large block of Jade.

After a long "Rock Hound" chat with the very friendly and helpful guy, we purchased a small piece of black Jade ( in the rough form ) and a larger 5kg piece of green Jade. Plans to do some jewellery making with this once we are back home. Just need to post these home now as the trailer will not stand continual adding of extra weight.
