Day 67 - 13 September
NHD-
Exmouth to Coral Bay.
Only a short drive from one idyllic spot to another. Two hours after leaving Exmouth and a short stop at the Potshot Memorial, we managed to get a site at the Coral Bay People's park, which is literally across the road from the beach. Awesome spot and Hopefully we can work out a way to extend our visit to CB as the park is full!!!
Levelled up the van and headed straight to the beach, it was hot. Where we spent the rest of the day. We found a quiet little spot on our own just around the point. The clear water was shallow for quite away out until a sudden drop off, changing hues of blues! Absolutely Stunning. Sun shining, girls playing happily (do you believe that?). The snorkels came in handy, Grace spent a lot of time out in the deeper blue checking out the marine life. Matilda had a go too but Olivia, a lot like me, prefers land or being on it at most. And dislikes sharing the space of those who actually belong in the water.
Towards the end of the day there was a growing crowd along the beach, curiosity drew us away from our seclusion to the throng of the crowd. Where we found an animated ranger feeding massive fish amongst the peoples legs. We think they were coral trout. Our girls got in on the action, including Olivia albeit at a slight distance, and me! They were swimming between our legs nibbling at our skin! Seriously the fish were almost as big as Matilda! No I'm not really exaggerating look at the photos!
Back to our spot, more swimming/ snorkelling/ sand play/ hermit crab hunting/ beach football etc.... but we for some unknown reason had become like the dog whisperers, as everyones dogs who walked past came to sit with us on our towels, wet dogs, dry dogs, sandy dogs, big and small! Some thought that was incredibly funny! Others not so much!
As the amazing sunset, cold G&T in hand, camera at the ready, girls happy, JD by my side, all relaxed, calm....absolute bliss!
Another perfect day!
Eventually we made our way back to the van for a yummy dinner of chicken, sauté vegetables and rice. Happy Days!
