We covered over 300 miles yesterday as we left Scotland and made our way into Wales. We tried to make up a bit of time on the motorways but got bored after a while, so exited and decided to cover some miles through the lakes district. Our first stop was Keswick where we had a wander. It was added to Jac's & my list of places to return to as it was very beautiful. From there it was south past the lakes and hundreds of other cars. We wanted to stop quite a few times but could not get a park for the whole way through. Crazy! Then it was back out on the motorway and down into Wales. We crossed the border about 1.30pm & made our way across the top of the country before heading down through Snowdonia National Park. Once again it was spectacular countryside and beautiful villages. We gave up trying to pronounce town names especially where we stayed for the night in Llansantffraid-Y Mechain. Go on, have a crack at that. Our digs for the night was an inn over 200 years old.
Today we didn't have as far to travel and made our way over the black mountains and on to Swansea. It was another beautiful drive but nothing too exciting about the city. It is our last day in Wales before heading to Ireland tomorrow. One thing we can say is that the countryside is beautiful but the city's and larger towns are very uninspiring from what we have seen. Saying that though we have only had a taste so one day we will return and continue on some Wales trails.

Margaret Wales has some amazing countryside and mountains but the towns aren't very inspiring - stick to the countryside xx
