I just can't believe how fast time is disappearing. It is a whole 3 months since our last blog entry... so much for weekly, or monthly blogs. We have been super busy with work, a wedding, trips here and there, work, planning for our parents, oh and did I mention work? Jac has finished her season at Brompton Primary & is now trekking around Ireland with her parents. To say she was happy to see them was an understatement, it almost matched her joy at finishing work. She was sad but relieved to leave the school as saying goodbye to the kids was hard but not having to deal with the dregs of families coming in is a big relief for her. The big benefit to come from it, the fact she has covered enough hours to now be fully qualified. My wife the teacher. That does have a nice ring to it! So now she has a well deserved 5 week break. Yes i did say 5 weeks. I definately am jealous. Anyway her parents arrived last week and she has been showing them around the city. I have been working lots but got to hang with them a few days and even took them out on a tour, but more on that later. They have seen a lot of the sights and we even caught a theatre performance of Chicago with the lovely Christy Brinkley. Jac wouldnt believe me who it was until I brought in the marvel that is Google. Yup, right yet again hey Jacquie? So they have been braving the crowds of the city (which are ridiculous at the moment) but are now away from the craziness. They are in Ireland at the moment To Be Sure. Then its up to Scotland and back down to catch up with me before I head off around the UK with mum. She will be here in just under 2 weeks & I am so ridiculously excited, I cant wait. I`m looking forward to meeting her at the airport & giving her a great big hug, or 3, & then showing her around Londontown & the UK. We are heading up to Scotland first where we will catch the Military Tattoo & then travel around Scotland before heading to Wales. From there its over to Ireland for a few days then flying over to the South of France for the final couple of days before back to some London sightseeing. Actually a note to anyone travelling to London, umm its closed so dont bother coming in Aug/Sept! Anyways over the last few months we have travelled to Reading & Windsor Castle. We`ve done Brighton which was great but maybe a little run down. It`s the sort of place that was probably beautiful about 20 years ago but is now maybe a little sad. We did a long weekend at Lincoln on a farm stay which was so relaxing and headed down to Sherwood Forest & Nottingham to explore the legend of Robin Hood. We survived the wedding of Wills & Kate which brought amazing amounts of peeps to the city and we would of gone for a look, but unfortunately I was working. There was such a buzz to the city & I did get to see the flyover at least. Speaking of work I am now doing 2 jobs. I am still at Trafalgar but have been moved to the busiest hotel which is great for sales. It is stoopid busy but doesnt matter as I am making awesome commisions. I am still doing 2 days on, 2 days off, but am now a tour guide on the other days. I have started working as a tour guide with Evan Evans Tours doing day trips out of London to Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge & Bath. They are long days but is by far the best job I have ever had. I landed the job through my friend Dan, who got me the Trafalgar job as well. He really is my unofficial employment agent. The first time I did it it was pretty intimidating getting up in front of 50 people talking but am so at ease now. I incorporate humour with the history & generally we have a lot of fun on the tours. It is a very rewarding role and something I could definately see a future in. The downside is I have been working soo much as both jobs I do 12+ hours day after day after day and its not as easy as when I was younger. Anywho only another 2 weeks & I am on holidays. Then after September things with slow down and come October it will all be relaxed again & we can look at some European travel. We are thinking of Norway & the Scandanavian countries with some friends to experience the Northern Lights. Really cant wait to get back on the road again. I will be blogging every day when mum gets here just to continue the memories so I will be back with some more ramblings in 2 weeks. Hopefully somebody will be reading.
