The final leg of our Swiss tour began early. We packed, cleaned and said goodbye to our Chalet & Grindelwald as we made our way south west to Geneva. It was quite a long drive by Switzerland standards, about 280 k's but we would be fine. We could enjoy the countryside on the way. Well when I say we could enjoy the countryside I mean I could, as the rest of my travelling companions snoozed for most of it. I didnt really mind though as it was interesting to see how the landscape changed. It went from the mountainous areas that we had experienced to this point, down to smaller hills and plateus. In fact there was a lot that reminded me of back home. Nothing too exciting happened on the trip so once we got to Geneva we parked, then the girls & I went for a little wander as Sharif stayed to guard the car. We only had about an hour so we wandered along the waterfront before making our way back to the car. The city was quiet but beautiful and reminded us a lot of Stockholm, thos same sort of styled buildings. Then very sad we made our way to the airport to drop off the car and headed into the terminal through pouring rain. And just like that the holiday was over. So waht are our thoughts of Switzerland? Well the country is by far the most beautiful we have ever visited. Everything is so exagerated, such as high mountains, the bluest of waters and the most charming little villages. This is a country that ended up being just like we had imagined it. It wasnt as expensive as we had expected it to be, wlthough we did cook a lot. But everywhere we travel we generally say we need to come back. With the country being so small and having a car we basically saw everything we wanted to see, and have a feeling of contentment that if we never came back we wouldnt be sad. Saying that though give me a house to live there and I could in a heartbeat. The way of life there is a lot more relaxed and healthy. Switzerland we love. Thanks for being the country we knew you would be.
