Milan, Italy. 8th September 2011.
After joining Emanuelle and Orazio for breakfast, Emanuelle dropped us off at the Duomo. Here we enjoy a coffee before Emanuelle leaves for work.
Time to explore, first the Duomo, brilliant facade but compared to Siena's Duomo as far as the Art goes Siena's Duomo beats it hands down. Next we walked through Emanuele II Gallery with it's beautiful exclusive shops and then we see "La Scala", famous for it's world operas.
After lunch Peter and I visit the Santa Marie die Grazie where we booked a tour for 3.30pm to see the church and famous Leonardo DaVinci's "Last Supper". We are pleased that we did not miss this opportunity, a tri dimensional painting, not a fresco and was painted directly on a wall. Commissioned by the Sforzesco family, very powerful Dukes. Later in the afternoon we visited Castello Sforzesco and walked to the Arco Della Pace (Peace Arch) before returning to Orazio and Emanuele's home.
During the day we have also checked out Milan's fashion as this I'd the fashion capital of Italy.
For dinner we joined Orazio at a local restaurant "belluccio".
Buon Cena.
