Sienna was amazing. It's a very small cute little town. Enjoyed lots of gelato ( Ferraro Rochier omg !!) and did a little bit of shopping.
Sienna is known for the Il Palio horse races that they hold twice a year- unfortunately we missed them. They hold them in the main town square, which is hard to picture because it doesn't seem that big.
We climbed the 400 stairs to the top of the clock tower that holds a place in the main town center (Piazza del Campo) and I was taken away by the amazing views ! Tuscan hills and small villages in the distance, it was breathtaking.
Also visited another Duomo which was spectacular. The detail was absolutely amazing, it truly is a gothic masterpiece. There is one in Florence that is supposed to be more amazing than the one here in Sienna- Im excited to compare the 2.
Sienna is rather small so in 2 small half days we were able to see pretty much all of it. It's just so hot here that you can't venture out too long- you need a cold shower or to jump in the pool!
Our last day we spent by the pool working on our tan. I'm getting rather dark! It's so nice having a pool! The humidity here is insane ! Off to Florence tomorrow afternoon and apparently there it is even hotter ....
