Last day in Rome :( And we started it with laundry... Well Brennin did the laundry :) which I'm thrilled about. Caught the 1500 shuttle out and mailed our package with only a little trouble ... The Vatican will only ship 2 kg out, ours were over so had to head to the next post office which wasn't to far away. Then had a last meal in Rome which was lovely. Brennin wasn't a fan of his pizza which was a shame.... And then that just leaves packing ... Off to Sien...

Second last day in Rome we spent visiting the castle sant Angelo. It has many purposes throughout history, first starting as a tomb to the imperial families, than it housed the popes apartments,it's final purpose was a military barracks and prison. Saw the famous Passetto which was an emergency passage way from the Vatican the the castle for the pope. The view from the top of the castle was amazing. Had a cloudy and rainy day today which was nice! It was 21 out for most of the day then started to get hotter at 3. Had to laugh because a lot people had big thicker rain jackets on and sweaters, apparently when it drops below 20 it's "cold". Went to the Palatine hill and walked through all the ruins. It was the founding site of Rome. It was neat walking through it all. Had some nice gardens as well and got to see some of the statues they found at the dig site. ...

Today was a nice sleep in ! Woke up late and enjoyed the clouded sky- its nice not drenching in sweat ! The shuttle to the city has a weird gap from 11-15 and the last shuttle in is at 1830 so decided to have this as a lazy day. Had a nap, read my great expectations book and caught up on my journals (because I know my mom will want to read those!). Hung by the pool this morning while waiting to switch rooms. It will be nice to be in one room for 5 nights straight. And I Courtney actually have a tan, yes it is true ! Got up to 38 degrees today, the humidity was insane. Went back into town and had an amazing dinner and dessert!!! So yummy!!!
