Finally in Italy !! So excited. We have a cute little cottage on the campsite and a pool!! It's a nice setup- they have a shuttled organized to get us into Venice. So on our first night we said a sad goodbye to all the Australians we met on our trip :( - had some vino, pizza and took some memorable photos.
First day in Venice was exactly how I pictured it!! Gondolas, tight little alley ways with shops, beautiful churches... And the list goes on. It was just breathtaking! Saw the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit with his machines and inventions- we even got to play with some of them... Nothing broke either !
Now we get to one of the best parts- gelato !!! SOOOO good!! I tried the peach, pear, mint chocolate chip and creme brûlée (the brûlée was the best so far!!). Apparently there are hundreds and hundreds of flavors- I am going to try a new one each time... And maybe go back to the brûlée a few times..
Then we get to the shopping... Oh the shopping. We went into this beautiful mask shop that had one of a kind designs- I bought a really cool mask ! Brennin also got a wicked one with a drawing from Leonardo da Vinci on the side.
There was a lot of high end designers here. Bought an awesome glass blown pendant for my necklace, and picked up some other little cool gifts for the family.
On the last day in Venice we slept in... We had spent 9 hrs walking Venice the day before so we saw almost everything and sleep was much needed. We used this day to soak up the sun by the pool- clear blue sky's, it was a perfect day. I only burnt a little bit!
Now we on the bus heading to Ancona... Ya soo there isn't really anything there... So canceling that and heading straight to Rome !!! Which is so perfect because I got my test results this morning and I PASSED !!! So it's very fitting that I am going to Rome (the city I have been dreaming of going to since forever !). We're there for 9 days now but plan on taking a side trip to the beautiful island of Capri (so excited about this!)
And let the Roma adventure begin ....
