Had a cloudy and rainy day today which was nice! It was 21 out for most of the day then started to get hotter at 3. Had to laugh because a lot people had big thicker rain jackets on and sweaters, apparently when it drops below 20 it's "cold".

Went to the Palatine hill and walked through all the ruins. It was the founding site of Rome. It was neat walking through it all. Had some nice gardens as well and got to see some of the statues they found at the dig site. Then explored the Roman Forums which are ruins again and saw some arch ways where the soldiers would march through after a victory. Then the highlight of Rome, the Colosseum ! We were smart and bought the combined ticket at the Palatine so we got to go to the express row and only had to wait 10 min !! Had to chuckle when I saw the HUGE line waiting to buy tickets hehe. The Colosseum was amazing, it was hard to picture 50 thousand people in there. Got to go on 2 levels so we got a great view of the underground portion as well as a view of the Roman Forum. We then ventured to the Hard Rock Cafe and went back to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain to get the day time experience- again they weren't to insanely busy which surprised me. Then we checked out another city center called Piazza del Popolo which was one of the less busy centers but had some beautiful fountains and sculptures.

Then went back to the amazing sandwich shop !!! And of course got some gelato ! I tried the Nutella and this delicious vanilla chocolate thing ! I'm slowly adding to my list of flavors tried.

Only 2 more nights in Rome which is sad :(. Still lots to see! Resting the feet tonight !
